Complete an on-line application by going to: https://recruit.cns.gov/applyform.asp.  There are instructions on this page to help you register, fill out the online application and submit it to our program.  There is a section on the online application called “Program Selections”, click on this tab and put in the program code,

Did you put email addresses for your references in the references portion of the online application? IF you did NOT you will have to get your references the Reference Form and have them mail it or fax it to our organization. IF you DID put email addresses, check with your reference to make sure they got an email from the AmeriCorps.org website with a link to the online reference form. IF they did not, again, you will have to get them the above form and have them get it to us as soon as possible

If you choose to download the AmeriCorps Application, please review the following information before sending it in:

• Make a copy of your application before you send it.
   
• Two reference forms are included in the application. They are an important part of your application, and your application cannot be considered without them. References are to be in sealed envelopes. Select people who you know well and who are familiar with your personal background, education, employment and/or professional skills. You should not ask a family member, peer, classmate or friend to serve as a reference. Consider asking teachers, advisors, school counselors, work supervisors, clergy, coaches, or someone else familiar with your community involvement and extracurricular activities.
  
   
• Consider carefully your response to application item number 17, the motivational statement. It is weighted heavily in the application process.
